After exploring the diversity of animals across forests, oceans, grasslands, and even the tiny world of insects, Toymany began a new creative journey — bringing the world of birds into our realistic animal figurine collection.
Creating realistic bird figurines introduced a new challenge.
Unlike many animals that are recognized mainly by their body shapes, birds are defined by details that are much more delicate and expressive: the layering of feathers, the curve of a beak, the movement of wings, and the unique posture that gives each species its own character.
For our first bird collection, we wanted to create a group of animals that could showcase this incredible diversity. After careful research and exploration, we chose parrots as the starting point.
Parrots have always fascinated people with their brilliant colors, but their true beauty goes far beyond their feathers.
This idea became the foundation of Toymany’s first realistic Parrot Figurine Collection — a series created not only to capture the colors of these remarkable birds, but also the details that make them unique.
Why Parrots Became Toymany’s First Bird Collection
When choosing the theme for Toymany’s first bird figurine collection, we wanted to find a group of birds that could truly represent the diversity and beauty of the avian world.
Parrots quickly stood out.

With more than 400 species found across different regions around the world, parrots display an incredible variety of sizes, shapes, colors, and behaviors. Parrots show just how diverse one bird family can be.
But diversity was only one reason.
For realistic animal figurines, especially realistic bird figurines, recognizable details are essential. Every species needed to have its own identity — not only through colors, but also through physical features that make each bird unique. The different body proportions of each species all became important elements in the design process.

These details allow a figurine to tell a story even before anyone knows its name.
For Toymany, this combination of visual appeal, natural diversity, and educational value made parrots the perfect starting point for our first journey into the world of bird figurines.
From Sculpting Clay to Finished Figurines: Bringing Parrots to Life
When people first see a parrot, its vibrant colors are often the first thing that catches their attention.
However, when creating a realistic parrot figurine, color is only the final layer of the story.
Before the bright feathers, every Toymany figurine begins with careful observation, research, and sculpting — building the foundation that allows each realistic bird figurine to capture the personality of its species.
Starting With Shape Before Color
Before a single layer of paint is added, the parrot first takes shape through sculpting.
At this stage, the goal is not to recreate a colorful bird, but to capture the unique structure that makes each species recognizable.
The curve of the beak, the proportion of the body, the position of the wings, and the natural posture all need to be carefully considered during the sculpting process.

Even without any colors, a well-crafted sculpture should already allow people to recognize the character of the bird. During the sculpting process, each species also brought its own challenge, with different features requiring different levels of attention.
These early sculpting decisions become the foundation for everything that follows.
Creating Realistic Feather Details
After the overall shape is established, the next challenge is bringing feathers to life.
Bird feathers are not a simple surface pattern. They have different layers, directions, and textures depending on the part of the body.
The soft feathers around the head create a different appearance from the longer wing and tail feathers. The overlapping structure of feathers helps create depth and makes the figurine feel closer to a real bird.

For Toymany, these small details are what allow a realistic parrot figurine to capture the appearance of a real bird even before the colors are applied.
The sculpted texture is not just decoration — it is the foundation that makes the final painting look natural.
Bringing Each Species Back to Life Through Painting
Once the sculpting process is complete, the figurines enter the painting stage.
This is where each species begins to reveal its unique identity.
Rather than simply covering the surface with bright colors, Toymany’s painters carefully build up different shades, patterns, and transitions found in nature.

Through careful hand-painted details, the sculpted forms gradually transform into recognizable parrot figurines with their own personalities.
Beyond Bright Colors: The Details You Might Not Notice
For many people, the first impression of parrots comes from their incredible colors.
A flash of blue, a touch of red, or a bright yellow feather pattern can instantly make a parrot stand out.
But when we looked deeper into these birds during the design process, we discovered that their true beauty lies in many smaller details — the textures, structures, and movements that make each species unique.

These details may not always be noticed at first glance, but they are what bring a realistic parrot figurine closer to the real animal.
Beaks That Tell Different Stories
One of the most recognizable features of parrots is their unique beaks.
Although many parrots share the same general curved shape, each species has its own proportions and characteristics.
The powerful beak of a macaw reflects its strength and ability to crack hard foods.
The darker, compact beak of an African Grey Parrot creates a different expression and silhouette.
The smaller beaks of parakeets and lovebirds match their delicate body shapes.
For realistic figurines, these differences matter. A slight change in the curve, size, or position of the beak can completely change the personality of the bird.

Feet, Poses, and Personality
Another detail that is easy to overlook is how parrots interact with the surfaces around them.
Parrots have a unique foot structure that allows them to grip branches, climb, and handle objects with surprising flexibility. Their feet are not only a way to stand — they are an important part of how they explore and interact with their environment.
When creating these realistic parrot figurines, Toymany paid attention not only to the shape of the feet, but also to the connection between the bird and its surroundings.
For some species, a natural base was added to help capture the moment of the bird in its habitat — whether standing on a branch, resting on a natural surface, or creating a more dynamic scene.

A raised foot can create a curious and playful feeling.
A firm standing pose can show confidence and strength.
A relaxed posture can make a small companion parrot feel more approachable.
These small details, from the movement of the feet to the interaction with the base, help each figurine express a different personality — turning a static model into a moment captured from nature.
A Family Full of Diversity
Beyond their colors and details, parrots are also fascinating because of their incredible variety.
From the powerful Hyacinth Macaw and Scarlet Macaw to smaller companions like Cockatiels and Fischer’s Lovebirds, each species shows a different side of this remarkable bird family.
When creating this parrot figurine collection, Toymany selected different representatives to highlight this diversity — from large parrots with impressive presence to smaller species known for their lively expressions and close connection with people.
Together, they show that parrots are not defined by a single appearance or personality. Every species has its own unique character waiting to be discovered.
More Than Figurines: A New Way to Discover Birds
For Toymany, creating realistic animal figurines has always been about more than recreating how an animal looks.
It is about capturing the details that make each species unique and creating opportunities for people to learn more about the natural world.
The process of creating the Parrot Figurine Collection reminded us that every bird has a story beyond its appearance.
Through realistic animal figurines and educational animal toys, Toymany hopes to bring people closer to wildlife — encouraging curiosity, imagination, and a deeper appreciation for the incredible diversity of life on our planet.
The first step into the world of birds began with parrots, but the journey of discovery continues.
