These frogs can grow up to 4 inches (10 cm) in length, making them one of the larger frog species within their range. They have adhesive pads on their toes that help them climb and cling to vertical surfaces, and their skin secretes a substance that has antibacterial and antiviral properties, which helps protect them from some diseases.

The Australian Green Tree Frog is native to northern and eastern parts of Australia and has also been found in New Guinea. Due to its docile nature and resistance to toxins, it has become a favored species in the pet trade around the world.
