These frogs are ambush predators, remaining motionless for long periods before lunging at prey that comes within striking distance. Surinam Horned Frogs have several distinctive physical features, including horn-like projections above their eyes that give them their common name. They can grow up to 8 inches (20 cm) in length, making them one of the largest frog species in their habitat.
