Galapagos Tortoise Information

Galapagos Tortoise

The Galapagos tortoise is one of the largest tortoise species in the world, with males reaching over 500 pounds and up to 6 feet in length. These tortoises are known for their massive shells, which are either domed to facilitate movement in humid areas with abundant vegetation or saddle-backed to allow the tortoises to stretch their necks to reach higher vegetation in arid regions.
