Toymany 2026: Ideas, Themes, and What’s in Progress

Looking ahead to Toymany 2026, we wanted to share a glimpse of what’s currently taking shape at Toymany—not as a release list, but as a snapshot of ideas, themes, and directions we’re actively exploring.

The plans outlined here follow our current internal roadmap, but they are very much a work in progress. Some ideas may evolve, shift, or take longer to develop, and others may change along the way. Any animals mentioned in this post are shared as examples rather than confirmations.

So with that in mind, let’s take a closer look at what 2026 might bring—and the ideas we’re excited to explore next.

1. Continuing from Smaller Worlds

In our ongoing discussions for Toymany 2026, insects remain an area we’re quietly spending more time on—especially those that people are more likely to recognize from everyday life.

Rather than focusing on rare or unusual species, this direction leans toward insects that are commonly seen in gardens, parks, or even around the home. Their familiar forms make them easy to observe, compare, and talk about, particularly for younger learners who are just beginning to notice the smaller details of the natural world.

2. Birds as a New Creative Direction

Alongside insects, birds have also entered our conversations as a direction we’re beginning to explore more seriously.

Among the bird types being discussed, parrots stand out for their distinctive silhouettes and expressive details. Brightly colored macaws, cockatoos with recognizable crests, and smaller parrots such as conures have all come up as examples during early planning. Their varied shapes and personalities offer a wide range of possibilities without relying on a fixed lineup.

Feathers, stance, and balance all present new considerations when thinking about birds as figurines. Unlike mammals, much of a bird’s character is expressed through subtle shifts in posture—the angle of the head, the placement of the feet, or the way feathers rest or flare.

For Toymany, this represents a genuinely new challenge. While birds like the bald eagle or snowy owl have appeared in our wildlife collections before, parrots belong to a very different context, both visually and conceptually.

It’s a direction we’ve been approaching with care, which may also explain why interest and curiosity around this idea have been building since last year. As these concepts continue to develop, we’re grateful for the patience and enthusiasm shared by those following along.

3. Carnivores as a Broader Theme

Carnivores have been part of our ongoing discussions as a theme shaped by variety in size, movement, and behavior.

Some of the examples previously mentioned within the Forum—such as meerkats or skunks—help illustrate this diversity.

In parallel, ideas involving familiar wild canids, as well as species like red pandas or Tasmanian devils, have also appeared in conversation, each bringing a very different rhythm and visual presence to the table.

At this point, carnivores are being approached much like the parrot direction discussed earlier—as an idea that has drawn strong interest and curiosity over time.

4. Refining Design Directions

As part of our ongoing design discussions for 2026, some ideas are still in development—not as finalized products, but as directions we’re actively exploring. Within Toymany 2026, these design directions reflect how familiar subjects can continue to evolve alongside new ideas.

Domestic cats are a good example of this ongoing design conversation.

Over time, we’ve been asked why Toymany would consider revisiting cats, especially when two cat sets already exist.

The answer is simple: cats continue to be widely loved—by collectors, families, and children alike—and familiarity doesn’t mean there’s nothing more to explore. In fact, it often opens the door to deeper observation.

Earlier cat figures leaned toward broader descriptions, such as coat color or general appearance. Looking ahead, the direction being discussed focuses more on clearer breed characteristics, allowing each cat to feel more distinct in posture, proportions, and expression.

Toymany aims to continuously improve the professional depth and accuracy of how animal figurines are represented.

5. Exploring Supporting Accessories

Alongside animal figurines, we’re also thinking about how supporting accessories might help create more complete and engaging play experiences.

These ideas are being considered as part of our broader design queue, with the aim of adding context and interaction rather than standing alone.

Some of the accessories currently being discussed are inspired by everyday farm settings—simple, familiar elements such as shovels, hay piles, or barrels.

When paired with animal figures, these small additions can help bring scenes to life, encouraging storytelling, role play, and observation in a more natural way.

As with everything shared here, these accessory ideas are still in development. They’re intended to support how animal figurines are played with and displayed, offering more ways to build scenes and imagine environments as plans continue to take shape.

As we move through Toymany 2026, Toymany will continue to focus on thoughtful development—taking time to explore new ideas, refine familiar ones, and listen closely to the feedback we receive along the way. Some directions will take shape sooner, others will need more time, but each step reflects how we approach our work.

While these Toymany future releases are still evolving, they reflect how we’re thinking about animal figurine plans for 2026 as a whole.

We look forward to what the rest of 2026 will bring, and to sharing that journey together.

Hello and good afternoon!! I like the fact that you guys are working creativity with new themes and directions that you wanna take your animals figurines in. I do collect toymany products and wanted to offer up some ideas of what myself as a customer would like to see T from toymany. I’d personally like to see a set that focuses on smaller wild cat species like Bobcats, lynxes, Ocelots, Servals, etc. And maybe even a set that focuses on freshwater pond turtles like red eared sliders, soft shelled turtles, common snapping turtle, etc. Just wanted to share my thoughts. Keep up the good work & look forward to your future releases.
